Ms O'Doherty was very kind to me and my family in resolving our domestic problems.

She quickly got to the crux of what was causing our issues and set us on the right path in professional and helpful manner. We found her to be extremely knowledgeable and effective.

I first came across her when she was voted "Best Therapist" in the Houston Press a couple of years back and it is no surprise that she regularly gets these kind of awards. Some of my friends and colleagues have also been for therapy with her and they all liked her too.

My new therapist made me realize just how ineffective Denise was. I endured 3 months of weekly couple's therapy with Denise that went absolutely nowhere, except leading us to give up and part ways. She asked questions during our sessions but rarely offered any insight into our problems or tried to find the core issues. She found it easier to focus on my bf's drinking when i told her it was not the deal breaker. He constantly felt attacked by her. The time and $$$$ spent with her was absolutely useless. My bf went one last time w/o me and he came back and told me that Denise said she didn't think I really loved him. What kind of professional says that???

In just one session, my new therapist was able to find the cause of my hurt and explain how it was affecting the relationships around me and, incidentally, he was able to tell me why the ex and I didn't work out without ever meeting the him. My new therapist also answers his phone during business hours (I always got Denise's VM and inevitably played phone tag with her) and he told me I could call him anytime if I had questions or need to talk. Denise was never open about her time.

This woman is one of the most knowledgeable people I've spoken to. I have just finished my first session with her today. She is a very easy person to talk to and is pretty intuitively empathetic. I'm a pretty big introvert but it was not really an issue after about 10 minutes of speaking with her. I'd definitely recommend her as a Houston-area gender therapist. Her office is a little hard to find at first, but it's on the 9th floor of the River Oaks Tower and is actually in the same area as an attorneys office. Luckily, her office is pretty secluded away from the attorneys and once you're in the room you'd be hard pressed to hear anything outside of it.

This woman is unprofessional to say the least and only interested in making a buck and advancing GLBTQ causes.  I was in her office no more than 15 minutes before she called me closed-minded b/c I did not want my then husband to cross-dress. She then advanced the idea that he may want to be a woman which he denied.   Then she saw him for 15 years of our marriage and treated him for sexual reassignment services and sent him for hormones without ever having his wife, who she knew was adommantly against feminizing signing a waiver of liability about the services.  She was part of a fraud perpetrated on me by my ex and I lost many years of my life, with an ex with low libido and who grew boobs under my roof. What a darn shame I could have been told by the doctor many years ago and spared my children and myself a lot of pain. I am going to sue her for everything she owns. She is a lesbian and an activist and has a blind spot for conservative christian women.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Why would someone willingly take hormones if they didn't want to?
