Dr. Silk is under investigation by the State of California Licensing Board.
After the first office visit, I left with an intense feeling of uneasiness and confusion.
I then searched her name online and many unfavorable reviews came up. They reviews were so spot on to my own visit, it was scary.
I agree, RUN, don’t walk if you find yourself in this therapist’s office.
Judgemental: check! Mean: check! Unprofessional: check! (Her cell phone rang during the session. She picked it
Up to see who was calling and then said “oh, maybe I should put this away”.
I left my cell phone in the car as a courtesy to her! I also did not see her take one note during the session)
Rude: check! Defensive: check! Hostile: check!
These are not words that should be used to describe any therapist, especially one that specializes
in treating children. I agree with many of the other reviews, that she is dangerous and take your business elsewhere....as quickly as you can.

Dr. Silk was very acceptable from the first point, when I tried to make an appointment with a therapist.  My case was involved with dependency court and I had made many phone calls of inquiries to therapists and psychiatrists, seeking anyone who can take appointments. She is very friendly and acceptable for all situations.  I do recommend her for down-to-earth therapist.  My child's behavior is improving far better to control himself.  She is firm and teaching him authority, which can be considered very "old fashioned" for some parents. But that is what I think we are missing recent modern world.  So her way of teaching and counseling perfectly fit to my family.  My child, even Dr. Silk sometimes sounds strict to him, he enjoys visiting Dr. Silk.  Because he senses that she is doing that for his benefit. I myself was encouraged by visiting her and receiving the comfort from her, too.

If you do not open your heart, any Drs are hard to counsel you.

This women is dangerous and should have her licence revoked. She is clearly unstable, uses bad language, is judgmental, and has poor hygiene. The experience was anything but professional. She made my children very uncomfortable. They thought she was mean and punitive. Her suggestions were way off base, as if she was thinking of another case. She bad mouthed the other parent in front of my children, is very defensive, and hostile. RUN do not just walk away from the person!

I agree with this review. Although I can not speak to the hygien comment, dr. Silk should not have a liscence.  She is completely off the mark with diagnosis.  She has caused more harm than good. She is under investigation by her liscencing board and hopefully will not be in a position to harm children anymore.

Dr. Silk was attempting to resolve a dispute with myself , ex-wife and my daughter. Her observations were way off base, she never tried to find a common ground and instead just tried to tell me to handle the issue only one way with no alternatives. She would become argumentative, defensive and then just plain out rude. Her identification of the problem was way off base. She truly lacks insight into all aspects of our case and never showed any interest or ability to gain it. She became punitive in that she would not allow me to talk, demanded that i take only one course of action with my daughter which had no legal basis and became offended when I stated that I know the situation better than her and her course of action is not appropriate. She then asked me to leave her office, which I did without incident. Now she is billing me for a cancelled appointment that my ex-wife made and agreed to go to, I never agreed to the appointment or said I would. In fact I could not have gone as I had to coach my daughter's team that day and knew I couldn't go. She does not care and states she is billing me anyway, very unprofessional. If you are looking for a family counselor, look else where.

Dr. Silk was so disorganized.  Spent more time making an appt or getting a receipt than talking.  She also ran about 10 min late.  Also, didn't feel like she really heard what our issues were.   She was giving us advice that didn't really match up.  Very disappointed.

Dr. Silk was incredibly unprofessional, extremely rude, unethical, and clearly had no idea what she was doing.  It is quite scary that she has the opportunity to call herself a therapist and that she is allowed to see clients, especially children.  Dr Silk has no idea how to work with children and their families and caused more damage than good to my child and family.  Her observations were completely off, she fabricates things, says one thing in one session and something completely contrary in another and  she loses control and yells.  Her attention is not on her clients at all.  Please take your business elsewhere.  She was truly a disaster of a therapist.  An untrained, unlicensed person off the street could help your family better than Dr. Silk.  She truly should not be able to practice as a therapist.
