What stands out most when I think of my experience with Dr. James A Carter is his lack of concern and empathy. I did not find him to be very helpful, professional, or compassionate.
For instance, he had a 15 minute phone call with his wife while I was sitting right across from him, in the middle of my appointment! (This only happened to me once but it really shouldn't have happened at all. At the time it made me feel disrespected and very uncomfortable.)
He promised and reassured me he was committed to working with me long term (as in years) and said he would be there for me, but a month later abruptly terminated my treatment with no prior warning leaving me in a very difficult and unsafe situation that I would not wish upon anyone (which is why I decided to write this review). It's a really horrible experience to be abandoned by someone you truly believed would be there for you. :(
If you are looking for quality care with a reliable, skilled, trustworthy therapist then take your business elsewhere.
I would not recommend Dr. Jim Carter; he ended up causing a lot more harm in my life than good.
