I moved to Dalton from Atlanta a few years ago. I never saw any chiropractors in Dalton, because they either charged way too much or I did not like the stories I heard about them.
Even though, I have had adjustments from many different chiropractors over the years and even worked in a chiropractor’s office, I never felt right about seeing any in northwest Georgia.. And believe me, I did my research.
One night I had a dream about Dr. Janet’s office. So, being a believer in the power of dreams, I went to go see her.  Odd but true.  I was impressed by her friendly manner and her knowledge. And the price…..
I no longer wanted to be adjusted like I was a pretzel, being all twisted up and hearing my bones pop out loud.  This was something I had experienced many times before but no longer was felt necessary.
After getting my X-rays and spending time with the good doctor I was still enthralled with her “energy” and good vibes and the fact her waiting room was filled with carpet workers and moms with their children from age’s birth to teenagers. These kids were arguing about who would get to see Dr. Janet first. lol
Her front desk woman named Kathy is down to earth and is pregnant getting adjustments. (For those that do not know this -call Dr. Janet and find out how chiropractors help and support labor to go much easier and get rid of the morning sickness) Children with ear aches benefit too
So, I’m back for my adjustment, what a treat. Her table stands straight up and you lean into it. It goes down very slow and no pretzel adjustment here. Picture gentle and take your finger in the shape on a gun and push down on one spot very softly. No pain, right? Dr. Janet uses something called the Activator Method Technique. This is diagnostic and treatment system used by some chiropractors to treat many types of back pain, neck pain, and headaches (both chronic and migraine). She uses a small, hand-held instrument called the Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver a gentle push to the spine with the goal of restoring motion to the spinal where the x-ray showed a vertebra that was out of place.  When the table was raised back up I felt a little out of balance for a second and then the biggest grin on my face, my shoulders were out of pain.                                                  Now I’ve been around long enough to know that when our back hurt, it’s usually out of place. And when it’s out of place it means usually the muscles around it are out of alignment too. It takes a few adjustments to correct the problem. You not only have to keep the spine in place but you have to retrain the muscles. So, sometimes you have to have a bunch of adjustments in the beginning but that does taper down.                         Dr. Janet does muscle testing and if you want to see out it works bring in your Crisco, or diet drinks and watch her prove how your body goes weak.  She does nutritional counseling and includes that with your visit if you want.                                                    And before I end this review, one more thing…Are chiropractors educated like medical doctors….yes and no. When Dr. Janet completed her undergraduate studies, she was accepted into a chiropractic college where she entered a 4-5 academic program which is very similar to medical school. Her classes included these and much more, in depth study of anatomy, physiology, pathology. Neurology, radiology, spinal adjustments, biomechanics and many many other health related fields including wellness and preventive care.
I’m in the wellness field and I hope you call and check out Dr. Janet. I take no drugs and I’m 63 years old.
