I visited Dr. Carusa 1 year ago for anger management and initially felt much better, then after I stopped seeing her, things degraded.  Dr. Carusa's advice and therapy were fine, I was bad at listening at first.  When I didn't do what she said, nothing happened.  When I did what she said and did the work, things got better.  Best advice is to listen and do.  Go to the doctor, take the medicine.  Otherwise don't blame the doctor.

This woman seems to have questionable ethics. During my first appointment she tried to sell me a book, that was written by several of her coworkers, at her group practice. She never once mentioned that her coworkers wrote this book. She also lied about the type of therapy she offered,CBT, by saying that it was more effective than other methods. Most studies that claim CBT is the best method are produced by proponents of CBT, another fact she failed to mention.
She was also rude and dismissive during sessions and seemed to only be interested in doing things HER way. She displayed about as much warmth and compassion as a fax machine and offered up advice in a similar manner. There are a lot of good therapists at her group practice choose one of them. Don't bother spending a copay on her, you will get nothing for your money.
She could not answer simple questions about the problems we were supposed to address and often contradicted herself. Furthermore, she could not remember pertinent information and I often had to remind her about certain facts.

I wrote those negative reviews when I was very mad at the therapist because she helped to shatter my narcissist illusions please disregard the angry rants.
