Went to Stouder for over a year for eating disorder and to understand my PTSD. He decided I must have Borderline Personality Disorder though I was 20 yrs in service with NO evidence in my career, NO evidence in my life, NO family members ever had any concerns BUT due to his manipulative behavior in "therapy" I began dissociating when I went to his office because he would play good guy, bad guy and lie to me, most were small lies, but this behavior caused me to become deeply fearful of him. Ultimately, He thought I did something he that offended him and began documenting lies about me... unknown to me. This began at my last appointment and continued long afterward. The story is long but the end results are that I went from loving my job and loving my hobbies, living a very busy life, loved being around people, To being extremely traumatized. On SSDI and Unemployable for 6 years now and I still am rarely able to leave my home. Can't go to school, church, anywhere there are people in general.  Totally destroyed my confidence, my life, my family, my future... for what? To pay me back for something he misunderstood and I never did.  BE CAREFUL. LEAVE AT THE FIRST HINT OF DISHONESTY OUT OF HIS MOUTH.  That is good advice when it comes to ANY mental health provider.  They can take away you kids, your career, your freedom, your license, your pay, and much more. When they lie about you, you have no way to defend yourself. You will not be believed.  I had NO therapists before him but that is not a choice in this survey.  I had to say 1 - 2 therapists.

Be careful.  His loyalties are NOT to you.  If you do something he doesn't like, he is not very honest but will turn anything into "evidence against you" even if it is NOT true
