Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Visit and observe patients on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician. Supervise and coordinate activities of technicians and technical assistants. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Order medical and laboratory supplies and equipment I provide counseling to trauma, abuse, addictions, mood disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, life transition, domestic violence, divorce, and blended family issues. Work with individual, couple, and family formats, age 5 and older as well as adult individuals. As a transpersonal psychologists work directly with people that might be lost spiritually, or just those that are looking for help finding themselves in order to leave a happier life. These professionals can also help patients change their negative behaviors, improve their relationships, or even just explore their spiritual sides. Therapy and counseling in transpersonal psychology might involve such things as meditation, dream work, altered states of consciousness, and vision quests. These types of therapies can be used to help patients see themselves not merely as flesh, blood, and bones, but as diving individuals with a heightened sense of the world around them.
