Insurance:BC/BS of Massachusetts for Nutrition Cigna, United, Aetna, HPHC all have some plans which cover acupuncture. I am a preferred provider for all these companies and can bill them directly if your plan covers acupuncture. For other plans (for example out of state plans such as BC/BS Anthem of California, BC/BS Federal) cover acupuncture but acupuncturists in Massachusetts cannot bill them. So I can provide a 'Superbill' that you submit for reimbursement.
Fee:
Acupuncture is from $25-$75 per treatment depending on how many times you need to come in per week.

This is for treatment in a private comfortable room with heat lamp and any necessary adjunctive therapies such as Tuina(chinese massage), moxabustion, microcurrent electro stimulation.

Herbal consultations are free if during an acupuncture session.

George was a delight to work with and saved me from excrutiating and debilitating sciatica pain during my third trimester of pregnancy.  I could barely walk and had to use a cane.  I couldn't carry or lift my two-year old daughter.  Upon meeting George, he assured me that he could help me.  We started accupuncture and I immediately saw some relief.  Over the next couple of weeks, I got better and better, ditched the cane, and was able to resume caring for my daughter.  Apparently, my baby was breech and pressing down on a nerve.  George explained to me how to use moxa sticks at home to stimulate an accupuncture point in my pinky toes - to help the baby turn.  After 8 nights, I could feel that the baby had moved, a fact that was confirmed at my next ultrasound.  I credit George not only with relieving my terrible back pain, but also with helping turn my breech baby and thereby allowing me to have a vaginal delivery instead of a c-section.  Thank you so much!

I first met with George about three years ago to get help with my diet.  George was thorough in collecting information about my health and diet to make specific recommendations for me. Since then, I have continued to work with George on improving my diet as well as seeing him for acupuncture.

I find George to be quite knowledgeable about Chinese medicine, general nutrition and acupuncture. I appreciate his blended eastern/western style of nutrition and find his recommendations to be very helpful in treating me.

More recently I have met with George following a diagnosis of colon cancer.  He has been an integral part of my healing (as has Joy Mandler). George has guided me with nutrition counseling as I continue to heal post surgery – which resulted in changes in my digestion.  I also meet with George for acupuncture to help alleviate tension and manage side effects from chemotherapy.  I appreciate having one provider for both nutrition and acupuncture and believe his vast knowledge make my treatment that much more substantial.

I always leave the office feeling relaxed and renewed. Following appointments, George e-mails notes from the meeting and follows up after appointments to check on the status of my symptoms.  George is very diligent and does everything possible to show he is 100% invested in my health and well-being.  I feel so fortunate to have found George and grateful that he is by my side as I continue to heal.

I chose George Mandler as my nutritionist after my wife recommended him after having a great acupuncture experience with him during her pregnancy. My goal entering my work with George was to improve my energy level, alleviate some chronic conditions I felt were food-related, and to just start eating better. George delivered on all these goals and then some. His approach to improving my diet was tailored specifically to me, starting with a comprehensive blood test that revealed all sorts of sensitivities that I have to certain foods. Much to my delight, I am now eating foods that nourish me while avoiding foods that actually do harm, even if those foods are generally considered “healthy” ones. Such a comprehensive and individualized approach appeals to me and it is just the kind of approach you will get with George. He sits with you, you never feel rushed, and he puts all his know-how into improving the issues you are dealing with. After several months under his care, I have experienced far fewer occurrences of my chronic health issues and my energy has improved ten-fold.  I recommend him whole-heartedly if you are serious about improving the thing that impacts your health and life so much, your diet.
