I contacted Mr. Kaufman regarding my 8 yr old w/ASD. Was generous with his time by phone prior to moving forward with first of two $300 initial appointments.
I asked about his education, work history, and license (not a licensed psychologist in TX). Cash session costs $135 and each advocacy/collaboration call/visit $250. Sessions are 25-45min but may be as short as 10-15min if child has reached a frustration limit (potentially $810/hr if the session lasts 10min).
When he referred to himself as "we," I earnestly asked how many other therapists in his clinic = zero.
Treatment rooms don't have observation windows but can sit-in during...its important for youngsters.
He was polite even when he suddenly suggested he was not a good fit based on the expectations he perceived from my questions. He recommended Our Children's House Baylor.
...After kind goodbyes, heard him call me a jerk just before he disconnected... Apparently important questions = problem client for him.
