Janet Cleary, LCMHC, M-LADC
Janet Cleary has been in the field of addictions since 1998, initially working with adolescents and their families in a residential setting. Her continued interest in addictions motivated her to complete a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling/Psychology with a concentration in Chemical Dependency from Antioch New England Graduate School.
She began working for Monadnock Family Services after graduate school and provided out patient psychotherapy for individuals with mental health and substance use issues.Ms. Cleary is also trained to provide evaluations for domestic violence offenders and facilitated the Domestic Violence Intervention Group. Around the same time, she earned her NH License in Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
She later accepted a position with Cheshire County Alternative Sentencing Program where she provided case management for individuals with dual diagnosis and legal problems. While with the County, she obtained her New Hampshire License in Mental Health Counseling.
Ms. Cleary started a private practice in July, 2011 at 155 Washington Street in Keene, New Hampshire. Her passion is helping individuals resolve trauma and addiction issues. Along with extensive experience in substance abuse and trauma, Ms. Cleary also treats mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relational problems and adjustment disorders.
In the Spring of 2012, Ms. Cleary was trained in EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapy designed to assist individuals suffering from a variety of emotional problems. In particular, EMDR can be useful in the treatment of trauma and substance use problems.
When she is not working at her practice, she enjoys making art, sewing quilts, walking and spending time with her family.
