Janet has been extremely helpful to me over the past 3+ years. My work with her regarding my anxiety issues has literally changed my life. She was extremely helpful in teaching me techniques that helped me cope with difficult family situations, anxiety and insomnia. She always treated me with kindness, respect, and dignity.

Janet is a pleasure to work with. She was very helpful in dissecting my problems and helping me come up with solutions. She works very hard to establish a positive rapport with her patients.

I was referred to Janet Cunningham when my therapist retired.  I am very pleased with her.  She has helped me work through several immediate crises, while steadily leading me on to the emotional "big picture".   She maintains a high level of professionalism that is not always found in any profession.  I would recommend her to anyone.

I've been a patient of Janet's for over two years and I can honestly say she's helped me tremendously. She's patient and kind. I did not talk for the first couple months of going to her. She never made me feel uncomfortable and she let me speak when I was ready. Not once did she judge me or criticize me for anything I did or did not do. Still, she guided me and would always try to help me look with new perspective. I'm blessed to have met her!

I can not disagree more with the previous reviews. I have been a patient of Janet for more than a year. She has been nothing short of professional, polite and incredibly knowledgeable in her field. She has not only help me, but has help my family dynamic also.

Janet Cunningham should not be in the business she is in and it is deplorable that she is allowed to "counsel" people.  I agree with the other reviewer--she was awful and disrespectful.  I would not recommend this office and you cannot judge professionals by what THEY choose to write on their websites.  This is a real joke.  I found her troubled and would advise patients to stay clear of her.

I saw Janet Cunningham while she worked as a vocational counselor for the state of Connecticut.  She was insulting, incompetent, rude and a disgrace to her profession. After meeting me for the first time she looked at me and literally listed all the things that were "wrong" with me and my life. She actually said "You don't have a job, you're depressed, you have no job offers, you have no money, you live with your parents, etc".  I could not believe this college educated "counselor" could inflict so much humiliation on a person never mind someone who came to her for help.  She impressed me as a very troubled woman and I came to understand that she could work for the state and have her incompetence go unnoticed.  It is a big system. The fact that she has been hired into a group practice is also a disgrace but there is no way for colleagues to know how she has treated clients in the past. Colleagues simply don't know what goes on when therapists are alone with patients.  It is distressing to me that another depressed and vulnerable young woman or man would trust her enough to go into therapy with her.  My experience with her is the reason I have taken the time to write this review of her. If you need help and are looking for a therapist, please ask a good doctor, clergy or trusted nurse or friend for a referral. It is vitally important to have a healthy therapist.  I find it tragic that Ms. Cunningham is now in this business.  Please find someone else to entrust your mental health to.
