I received both a BA in Psychology as well as  a BS in Criminal Justice Corrections from the University of Cincinnati before relocating to Charlotte. After years working with those struggling with chronic mental illness I earned my Masters in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

As a licensed clinical counselor it is important that my therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence based psychological theory as well as takes into account the unique needs of each person that enters my office.  I strongly support an interdisciplinary holistic approach that focuses on promoting deeply rooted lasting change by taking the whole person into consideration. My individualized approach  focuses on creatively integrating the individual strengths unique to you with the theory and research specific to the reasons that brought you to seek services.

For many people today's problems stem from struggles experienced early in life. Each of our experiences shape us in ways that we are not always aware of. My approach is to identify and address the root of the problem for lasting change. I work with adolescents and adults to resolve these underlying difficulties and developmental hurtles. Many clients I work with experience emotional problems that they just can't seem to escape including stress, anger, anxiety and depression, or difficulty with families, partners and parenting. Often these problems show up as insecurities about ourselves and relationships.

My theoretical orientation is based in an integrative model that is humanistic and psychodynamic in nature. This approach blends variety of techniques to best match your unique needs. This promotes lasting change by creatively integrating your individual strengths with the theory and research specific to what your seeking services for.
