Expert in PTSD and DID. Helped me become a whole person again. EMDR was tried with no ill effects. Found cognitive therapy better. Trauma based therapy was extensive and intense at times and her kindness through it all has probably saved my life.

Joan works well with multiplicity.  I have found her to be a good resource.  Her sessions are only 45 minutes and I really think that's too short, but she's helpful and kind and sincerely cares.  I find her a bit condescending when she speaks as if she's speaking to a little kid.  She never had children and doesn't know much about them.

She lives a bit in the "dark ages" in that she has no email, website or cell phone.  Her office phone and answering machine are ancient and that can be frustrating when leaving a message.

All that said, she is a kind woman who cares and is dedicated to helping me get better.

Dr.Joan Offerle should not practice EMDR. It's like playing with fire and did more harm than good. She means well, but her serious lack of judgement calls lead to a breach of confidentiality that cost me tremendously. Everybody is human, but she also had billing errors and lack of recall. Never did she apologize, only lame excuses. In the end I felt betrayed and let down.
