My daughters were going through a very difficult court case with my ex husband and I. There were so many traumatic experiences they had that I couldn't wrap my brain around how to help them. Lori was compassionate, supportive and firm with both me and my ex. This was what needed to happen to help my kids through this very difficult time. She was very supportive of us as parents while educating us on the rules and laws surrounding custody. She helped my 16yo daughter the most. She empowered her to make the best decisions during a very difficult time. She is a strong advocate for young girls. I  don't know how we would have made it through this horrible scenario without her. I highly recommend her for families and especially young girls.

Lori saved my life . I care for people in my profession but Lori has been my life savor and guided me through a very difficult contentious family law case . She is extremely caring about her job , her clients and wants the best outcome for her client . I had  a very contentious case where father lied and got primary custody of my two children. Lori helped me out of my depression and severe PTSD and because of Lori I got primary custody and sole medical cuystody of my children . Lori is an angel !!!!

I have been seeing Ms. Salinas for nearly a year due to a hostile work environment. She has helped me through the trauma as well as the scars it left on my self esteem and self confidence.

She has helped me in a way that I could not help myself, even with friends, community and family cheering me on. She provided tools that I can use when anxiety arises. She has helped me to address my depression and has guided me toward self empowerment.

I love the genuine care she expresses. I'm moving forward in my life thanks to the advice and constant support/encouragement of Ms. Salinas. Plus, she holds me accountable. I admire and respect her brutal honesty. I need it at times when I'm wearing my rose colored glasses.

If you want results oriented counseling, she is for you. If you are just needing someone to vent to about life, she will suggest pathways to solutions. She won't just listen. So be prepared for change in your situation and in your life.

Finally, she has lived most of our traumas. Her life experiences and her coming through it provide a platform from which to guide others. Ms. Salinas possesses both experience and education, coupled with intelligence and wisdom.

I've seen about four different therapists over my life. She is the most results oriented. Her idea of therapy is to provide the tools on how to heal your self, so that ultimately you don't need her anymore.

Now that's a true healer.

I owe this woman my life. She helped remind me that I still have self worth, and am valuable not only as a person, but a mother most of all. My future was dark and grim until I set foot in her office. As if God had sent me my own personal Angel to take my hand and pull me out of Hell...
From hanging my head down for over 8 years, I walked out of Ms. Salinas office with my head held high. I could look in the mirror and see every ounce of shame and self pity melt away from me.

She adjusted her schedule multiple times to accommodate mine and my children's schedules. I have referred two women to Ms. Salinas who've raved as well.

Lori salinas is invaluable to our community. I would gladly and proudly recommend her to ANYONE

I was assigned to Anger Management sessions by the family court. After attending several other groups, I felt Lori's group was the best fit for me. She conducts the classes in a  direct and straightforward manner. I found her groups to be supportive and informative. Her report to the court on my behalf was truthful and without bias. I would recommend her highly to anyone that needs to take these classes.

Mrs. Salinas seems to interpret children's comments in a inconsistent fashion with what I would expect a license clinician would when treating minors.  She was argumentative about my point of view when I objected to her style.  Predicting family court hearing in favor of Mother in front of the children.  Writing letters to the Judge in the case advocating Mother’s position in a deliberate attempt to hurt me in family court. After  one session my son mentioned to me that during some sessions with them she has even coursed.  I was taken back for her lack of people skills and her decadent level of professionalism.  I am seeing other therapists and I can ascertain that they exhibit the highest respect to me as their patient and the father of the children.

Moreover, Mrs. Salinas began treating the children for three sessions at the request of the children’s Mother without my written consent to treat them.  I learned of her treatment in family court when the children’s Mother showed to the judge a letter written by Mrs. Salinas claiming that she was very concerned about what they children had shared with her. Mrs. Salinas also provide detailed information to the children’s Mother’s attorney which later articulated at another hearing.

I am extremely shocked by Mrs. Salinas’s assertions noted on her letter.  Over 90% of Mrs. Salinas’ comments are lies and simply fabrications; it is an incredible display of unethical conduct and unprofessional performance.  Mrs. Salinas has artificially created situations that are inconsistent with the facts and my real relationship with my children.

This is very disturbing allegation from my son.  It unacceptable and unethical from a licensed MFT to behave this way; but from someone who has misrepresented herself it is not surprising.  Mrs. Salinas was subject to an administrative action by the California Board of Behavior Sciences, see below:

Citation Number: MF2009000266
Date: 6/15/09
Cause for Citation: Misrepresentation of qualifications and credentials.
Document source: http://www.bbs.ca.gov/pdf/enf_cite/fy0809/mf2009266.pdf

One important fact here is that Mrs. Salinas has not been appointed by any Judge to treat the children or parents.   Personally, I find my Mrs. Salina's practices more conducive for individuals who do not have insurance to have access to licensed MFT therapists/clinicians with more experience and who are located in Lafayette, Walnut Creek or Alamo areas.   The children should be seeing by more experienced and reputable MFT clinician with a clear professional record and not pending allegation with he California Board of Behavior Sciences.
