Introduction:
It is my goal to apply the techniques, processes, and approaches available to a mental health professional to assist clients manage and overcome a diverse range of issues. I work primarily with clients facing substance abuse, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, grief, and relationship issues. Through better understanding of peoples lives and struggles, I collaborate with clients to shape the proper therapeutic style and direction to increase day-to-day functioning and enjoyment of life.

Because of personal life experience, I have a special interest in working with clients managing chronic pain and illness. The physical and mental impact of chronic pain served as the catalyst for a career in mental health and remains a subject of interest in my practice today.

My counseling approach is considered eclectic, with a day-to-day working approach rooted in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). In addition to CBT I also include aspects of Gestalt, Existentialism and Solution-Focused techniques.

Marty has a good academic background - actually went to a state school versus a for profit university...that is common among many "therapists" today.

He listens to the problem, and gives practical tools to avoid conflict, deconstruct your emotions and become self aware.

He helped my wife/I resolve a turbulent time and I would recommend him to others having marital issues !  Thanks!

Marty Ray is fantastic at what he does. Through a conversation he is able to see not only what is important to me in my life and why, but he is able to break down my thoughts, feelings and actions to another level that then illuminates other areas of my life where I am looking for more fulfillment. It's painless, eye opening and puts me strategically back at the helm in those aspects of my life where I formerly had bits of resignation or fogginess. Marty is also able to intuitively raise certain human connections, events or responsibilities in my consciousness which assists in restoring the autonomy back to those aspects of my life and gives me clear options on how to proceed with power and integrity concerning these issues. I usually leave Marty's office feeling light and clear headed. I am very fortunate to have connected with Marty. My meetings with him empower my evolution to the next level of being a father, son, friend, entrepreneur and a human.
