I sought out Dr. Nicole Metscher when Kaiser didn't seem to have availability for me. She isn't your typical, " how does that make you feel psychologist"  I could tell she genuinely cared and emphathized with me.  As a psychologist myself, I am a very private person and I appreciate the ability to seek my own counseling confidentially. She is very knowledgable  and treated me like an equal, which I appreciated.  Although it took several weeks of waiting before she had an opening, I now have regular appointments.

I was nervous about going to a counselor, but I am glad that I did.  She was open and did not judge me for some things that I was very ashamed to talk about.  She is phenomenal and made me feel like I was the only patient, especially by email, when I needed additional support.  I haven't been back to the hospital since I began seeing her, when I had gone to the hospital 2x before for severe depression. She's changed my life.

I don't usually write reviews, but I am very pleased with my experience.  I now see her with my spouse for marital counseling, but we began with Nicole to help with our children (ages 13 and 17).  She was recommended to us from our friends through church (she was seeing their son for counseling) . She became involved with our family under our EAP when she was treating our children for struggles with their attitudes.  Both of my teens raved about her, stating she was easy to connect with.  As a parent, I enjoyed the fact that Nicole helped to bridge the gap between myself and my kids again, by helping us talk to one another more closely.   My kids, are both doing well are seeing her sporadically when they say they want someone to check in with time to time.  The main focus is now for my husband and I for marriage counseling. She has a very thorough approach for marriage counseling and individual counseling. Her schedule is very compacted with back to back appointments, but she really uses the time to her fullest.  I like the fact that I can email her anytime and get a response fairly quickly too.  Again, I agree with the other reviews posted.  She is very easy to talk to in the appointments and I would also highly recommend her for yourself, marriage and/or children.

We went to Ms. Metscher for marital challenges and she made both my wife and I feel extremely comfortable talking about our struggles.  She went above and beyond when she worked with my daughter and also provided phone consultation to assist with troubles.  She is very real and genuine--not like your typical therapist. I was apprehensive to go at first, but I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future if we needed additional support.

My family and I have worked with Nicole on and off for years and she is always very inviting and understanding of our needs.  She listens to both the children and myself, as the caregiver, which is so important.  I strongly recommend her services to anyone.  She has changed the life of my child as well as my own.
