I was a troubled teen and after an attempt of suicide, I was sent to the Pond House for outpatient services. Soon after several sessions I was sent to a boarding school in Brooklyn, CT called The Learning Clinic. After missing out on 3 years of high school, when I fought the board of education to let me go back, I was finally given the chance to graduate my senior year at a public school.  Now, that I am 28 years old, I am now trying to educate myself so that I can move on in life and get a decent job since my years as a young teen, I wasnt able to get a job or get a proper education. I was put in a school with teens with sever mental disorders such as schizophrenia, Dementia & Autism. I was sexually assualted by an older student who had mental disorders and when I had gone to the police the principle said that i was lying & never pressed charges. I was not ment to be there and because i was arrested for breaking into a house with my friends, the courts agreed to send me to boarding school instead of giving me community service as I should have been given at the age of 17. Now, I struggle to keep a job and get through college because the school I was put into for 3 years did book work only and everyone there couldn't get below a B average, so when I went back to a public school, it was listed that I was a highest honor student, yet my education was very basic for 3 years and I never learned a foreign language, did math past basic algebra or  experienced true education such as Government Economics & Advanced learning. I think his intentions may be good, but I wish I wasn't denied a proper education which i now have to make up for in my late 20's with a child.  I got out into my senior year and was lost. I had no idea how to pass a test without being able to take it over or use my notes, I had no idea about politics or economy basics, no social skills at that point since i was isolated for 3 years in this school and as soon as I had freedom, I took off to experience the world on my own and ended up Pregnant. Many students who graduated out of The Learning Clinic now live on disability & never learned anything beyond a Middle School Education. Very sad.

I came to him back in 2000 with a history of abuse and an emotionally scarred mother. the doctor's orders were after dealing with serious emotional matters and the possibility of nervous breakdown due to actions caused in youth was to send me away to a "boarding school" in Montana (which was later shut down for child abuse and negligence) I lost out on 16 months of my teen years for having dealt with this individual. I'm hoping that no one ever deals with him. Instead of actually doing therapy, he would ship me off and not do anything. He placed a young adult with serious baggage in a dangerous environment and never bothered to check up with anyone. I contacted him years later not knowing what to do with what happened to me. all he could respond is get a job and blah blah blah. He now refuses to take calls. I hope you you have a better experience with him than i did as he helped forming me into the bitter angry person i am today.
